It was established y maharaja Narinder Singhin 1847.
it was one of the residencial place of maharaja's of Patiala.
The design of sheesh maha was selected by the maharaja Narinder Singh.
one portion of the mahal is decorated with the mirror and coloured glass.
it is also famous with the name of ''Palace of mirrors.
There is a bridge across the artificial lake in front of palace.

The interior portion of the qila mubarak was
reconstructed by Maharaja Amar Singh.
The Darbar Hall contains rare cannons, swords,
shields and maces, daggers of Guru Gobind Singh Ji,
sword of Nadir Shah.
Quila Androon has 13 royal chambers with scenes
from Hindu mythology painted in the Patiala art style.
